As 2022 comes to a close, I feel myself more and more pulled towards black and white Photography. It started with converting colored pictures into black and white but it couldn't satisfy. That changed when I worked with black and white cameras like the Leica M9M or greatly with the Leica Q2M. It first feels a little bit awkward to see your motive right there in black and white, but it help to teach your eye on what works in black or white and what doesn't. 2022 also helped my to getting used more and more to the Capture One Software. I'm still very happy that I moved from Adobe products away to Capture One. For me it's a much more intuitive process to work on pictures. Have a happy 2023 !

This morning i posted my 1000th Deviation here on Deviantart. It seems a very long time ago when i posted my first picture here on this platform. (It's 16 years ago and this was my first picture i shared with you.). Thank you all for your support. Have a wonderful X-Mas season and stay safe and healthy.

Lately (mostly due to the lack of traveling and home staying) i started a new project. When i walked around in my hometown i realized how many ugly and depressive buildings are around. That gave me the idea to start a gallery only with pictures of such buildings.

As i mentioned in another post, i changed my complete gear after staying around 20 years with Canon. On travel (not very often in the moment due to COVID-19) i use mainly the Leica Q2 her versatility and the near complete waterproof body makes a great companion. The sharpness and the crisp pictures are another plus. For the sunny days i use the Leica M10-P, which is very fun to use and i feel myself more into the basic creative way of doing Photography. The Leica M system need some time to get into it, but it's very worth it. For me it's a complete different approach into Photography using a Rangefinder camera and a manual focusing system. You are complete in the lead on how you compose your picture. Also i like the look and feel of the Leica lenses. They are just outstanding and are working perfect together with the Leica M system. Last bust not least i got myself a used Leica M9-P Rangefinder camera. The M9-P is a full frame camera with a CMOS sensor. IMHO the M9-P has some points which make her an everyday camera: first it's smaller and lighter then the M10-P, second i really like the shutter sound (you know i'm a oldfashioned guy), third the Rangefinder is very easy to use and forth i really like the colors which the CMOS Sensor produces. For a camera that went on sales in 2009, she makes still a lot fun - it's in my opinion as near you can get to an analog film camera. What also changed for me with the switch to Leica is that i no longer use the LED screens on the back of the cameras. Why ? I do more picture composition direct with the Rangefinder and i "see and build" the picture there. No need for looking on the screen anymore :-). So far i'm happy with my switch to Leica. Leica is not cheap, but IMHO it's worth it (also the great Lenses). Feel free to call me up if you have any questions or suggestions.

After a few months withe Canon EOS R, i gave up. In my opinion the EOS R is not the product it should be. The handling is awkard and not intuitive. The adapter for using the EF lenses is ok but not outstanding. Canon has lost the mirrorless market to others (like Sony etc.). This is too bad but for me i had to make a decision. I sold all my Canon EF lenses and also my Canon EOS R. With that i closed the Canon chapter for me. My new set of gear is the Leica Q2 (outstanding) and the Leica M10-P and the Leica M9-P.
